Asus HD 7950 dcu II not working!

First of all sorry for the rather generic title, but allow me to explain some more. I've been putting together my new build, getting pumped up to see my oc figures. However my graphics card won't connect.
My setup: Asrock z77 extreme4m, intel 3570k, asus hd 7950 dcu II and corsair tx650 v2 atx

Ok so I've got everything up and running, loaded windows 7 etc and now trying to load the driver for my graphics card. However it says, "please install and asus gpu first". So obviously it's not reading that it's there.. From what I've seen the card has 2 6pin pcie from the psu and that's all the connections it has? Other than the obvious pcie3 slot.

I hope I don't have a dead card and I've just overlooked something. It has been a while since I've built a computer.

Also, when I have the two 6pin pcie power connections connected windows will not boot at all but the cards fans still run, and computer fans all run and turns on.. If I have one pcie 6pin connected, the fans still run on the card and windows boots but can't find the card.

interesting.. when i installed mine i just installed the card and connected the 2 x 6pin PCIe connectors and windows detected it no problems.. so i cant see that have done anything wrong with installing it. it is a big card are you sure it is properly seated in the PCIe slot??

tho it might be DOA but hope not!

spelling mistake lol

Yes I did. I apologize I should have posted my solution.. I removed the graphics card, and booted up the pc, let windows do all it's updates etc, I then seated the graphics card and hooked it up (I had not missed any plugs) and started her up again and she was away! Note you may hav to re-seat it once or twice! Especially the size of the card..

So my suspicion as to what was stopping it was simply letting widows run off the inboard gpu and letting windows do it updates and several boots BEFORE installing the card.. Or it could have been as simple as I hadn't seated it properly..

I hope this makes sense and helps you! Never underestimate re-seating your card!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I have one, and it is one massive card. I was seriously shocked, I was totally not expecting it. its very heavy for a card, so a slight sag can cause it to somewhat not make proper contact. Mine worked fine, but I didn't like the sag, so I bought a Powercolor Powerjack, which did the trick.
