Anyone know of a good source for an 8 bay enclosures or small form factor PC cases that would work? I'm looking for a bare case, no PSU, no RAID and connectors. Just like buying a PC case.
All I need is a PSU (I'm looking at a fanless PSU) and I've a few Noctua fans lying around from previous builds. All I need to do is secure 8 x 3.5 drives, and an slot for a HighPoint EJ220.
My current problem is I need more storage and I've the maximum 8 hard disks connected to my RR2722 but with the HightPoint EJ220 I can double that to 16
Buying larger hard disks and removing one RAID 5 set, creating a new RAID 5 set, then copying the contacts would be the answer but it takes >6 hours just to build a new 9TB RAID 5 and I cannot be down for that long.
I would also like to try the new Western Digital Red drives, they look very interesting!
So I plan to get the EJ220 and build my own external enclosure, just need to find one.
Any ideas?
