Hi Guys!

I will be getting my 1st ever rig in a weeks time and im pretty excited but im pretty scared that parts that i get will not be compatible with one another . Heres the list of parts im getting .

CPU + MB - intel i5 3570 + AsRock B75 Pro 3m
RAM - Corsair vengence 1600mhz 4GB x 2
GPU - Sapphire 7970 ( Or should i get the gtx 670 even though its $40 more expensive ? )
SSD - Crucial M4 128GB
HDD - Hitachi 1TB
PSU - Seasonic m12 620w modular
ODD - LG DVD Sata
OS - Windows 7 home premium 64 bit
Casing - NZXT Phantom 410
CPU cooler - cooler master evo 212

Will the GPU bottleneck the CPU ? And are the parts compatible ?

Thanks biggrin.gif !

Hardly. That is one of the best gaming CPU's. Which leads me to my next question... is this mostly for gaming?

As for your GPU question, the 670/680 or 79xx series will satisfy any gaming need you should have. Go with whatever fits your wallet.

Seems good but you may want to spend more on your motherboard. Also, it seems like the new PSU standard is Corsair. Seems good though. Good luck with your build.

I thought of this as well, but I figured I would wait for a response for the main purpose of the build. S/he may not need a Z77 or higher end motherboard for that matter. That motherboard is pretty solid, especially for anyone who doesn't plan to run a crossfire/SLi setup (as there is only 1 PCIe x16 slot).

And kudos for chosing ASRock. That is my personal choice when building Intel rigs =]

i would go 670 as it nvidia have better drivers for more games and uses less power, but both will run most games maxed out, my 6950 had a few driver problems with skyrim and a few other games

I choose the 7970 because it can overclock better than the 670 , i was thinking of leaving it at stock until i cant max out newer games maybe in a year or two then i will start overclocking it . tongue.gif

Why would you use the business focused B75 chipset for a gaming rig? Does that chipset even support overclocking? Don't get a H77, it doesn't support overclocking either. Just get a Z77 board instead - there are decent ASRock choices for under $100.
