SSD won't boot in Windows after adding an HDD???

Thread Starter
I originally had a 120GB SSD simply set up for my OS and all my files. It's running off 1 of my SATA 6GB/s ports. I added a 320GB SATA 3GB/s drive and plugged it into a SATA 6GB/s port. After doing that - my SSD simply wouldn't boot into Windows. I cleared the CMOS,reset my settings and I still had the same problem. I then proceeded to re-install my OS and it still won't boot into Windows. My SSD is SATA 6GB/S #1 in the BIOS and the Hard drive is on SATA 3GB/S #2 in the BIOS. What needs to be done too fix this???

Was there an OS on the HDD previously, or is it a new blank drive? Sometimes having two drives with OS's on them can cause problems. It shouldn't, but it can.

Did you try hooking the HDD up to one of the SATA 3GB ports (or a different controller) to see if that helped?

Do you have another machine you can try the HDD in? Maybe it is a bad drive that is causing the system to hang - I've had that before.

I think it was a bad drive. It kept showing up then disspearing in the BIOS - after I removed it everything worked right again.
