Garik,

It appears for some reason when I try to preinstall the IASTORAC file it keeps saying installation Failed.

I am moving forward with all that you suggested in the steps mentioned above.

Lets hope this all works out.

If not do you have any other suggestions?

Update

Followed all steps as advised:

Set BIOS to RAID

Unplugged WD HDD's

Installed Windows, My attempt to install the IaStorAC drivers returned as failed

Completed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit installation

Plugged in WD HDD's

CTRL I shows my Raid 0 array

Using the Intel RST GUI program my WD HDD's show as a 1.8TB Raid

Windows however does not recognize the drive and under Management it still shows only 1 volume of 931 GB and RAW.

I am at a loss...

Any other suggestions?

Did you install the RST software package after windows was installed ?

Did you redo the RAID Array while in the Ctrl-I RST OROM setup ?

I initially tried to F6 the raid driver from the Windows 7 installation splash screen.

I kept on getting failures.

I then reinstalled windows clean as directed.

In CTRL I the raid volume was already there.

I installed the Intel RST software once Windows was installed and updated.

The Raid volume showed up there.

The drive D: (my raid drive) was still showing up at 931GB RAW.

I then redid the raid volume in CTRL I

Restarted Windows and went through the steps to assign the drive in Disk Management.

Everything appears to be normal now, however I lost everything that was on the drive unfortunately.

I was hoping to do this and still maintain all my installed games, files, etc.

I do want to thank you for all your assistance with this, hopefully with all the updating and clean windows install everything will run much more stable.

Garikfox,

I got a message about the 1702 OROM, and that I would have to do this all again from scratch.

What benefit is the new OROM over what is currently being used?

Thanks!
Well I think the 1624 was a BETA OROM, and 1702 isnt, I woudlnt use a BETA OROM.

The release notes are on the first page in my BIOS's thread.

For RAID I always like to use the latest OROM, newer always better right ? lol biggrin.gif
