Mini ITX for ~1000 USD

Thread Starter
What would be the cheapest and or best way to convert my PC into Mini ITX?

I was thinking just getting a case and M-ITX motherboard would be the cheapest.

Situation has changed...

Used for Planetside 2, Battlefield 3, Word+Internet, DVD Burning and Processing, Folding

Now I want to build a Mini-ITX from scratch

I have these parts:
128gb Plextor M3
500gb WD Blue (Plenty of storage for me)
Optical Drive (Fat, not skinny)
Windows 7
Speakers
Monitor
Mouse and Mouse Pad
Keyboard

So help me build a computer! Budget is around ~1000USD

Any incompatibilities/room for improvement with this?

just make sure your video card fits, and it can supply enough power for the system, and you'll be fine.
That'll work.

You're going to lose your sound card and possibly one of your 3.5" drives unless you do a bit of modding.

Okie Dokie! Anyone else?

I might keep my i3 and RAM and save some money... Hmmm

I'm also worried about the GPU. Will it fit?
GPU should fit fine.

It's a good build. About exactly what is recommended for people that are making an mITX build.

Don't forget when buying a i5 3570k or i7 3770k and a Z77 board from micro center you get $50 off the cost of the board in store. thumb.gif

I'm assuming 179.99 is the in store price for the i5 right?
Or is it 179.99 for the i5 and 95 for the motherboard at microcenter?
