The Eisberg Prestige is the new benchmark when it comes to CPU cooling. All metal parts of the in Germany designed Eisberg are made of pure copper and with the newly developed Jet Stream Technology it provides the best heat dissipation from the cooling-head to the radiator. The Eisberg Prestige 120 is a perfectly balanced water cooler, which can be mounted like a standard air cooler. The 240-version offers even more cooling performance because of the bigger radiator. Of particular interest to everybody who already has a water cooling system and is looking to complement their system is the Eisberg Prestige Single. The Single is ideally suited as well to develop a new efficient water cooling system with other components. All Eisberg versions will be pre-filled, sealed and tested in Germany to ensure durability and performance when the pump is installed.

Intel® Xeon® Processor W3520 (4 Cores/8Threads) LGA 1366 Xeon, comparable to i7 920
(8M Cache, 2.66 GHz, 4.80 GT/s Intel® QPI)

Xeon W3520 @ 4.2GHz 1.28v The test methodology (Click to show)
Test System

Many people already know and we remain true to this time the proven sytem because it offers through its high power output, the ability to hypothermia abzuverlangen everything. The test system consists of all compact cooling and the air cooler (compared cooler Noctua NH-D14) of the same components, was last changed in the range motherboard, namely exchanged for a newer version.

Comparison candidate

A survey showed that the majority here want a comparison with a high quality air cooler still to consider whether an upgrade is recommended on one of the many compact cooling. We have therefore decided that maintain all complete solutions to the still current Noctua NH-D14 with an assembly of two fans (120mm & 140mm) have, since the beginning of the tests provides its data to compare. One of the reasons was that this cooler with many volunteers priced (around 70 euros) on a plane, but this by the larger variants with a 240 radiator not quite true.

Temperature determination

In determining the performance of individual cooling solutions in this test of deltaT value between CPU and room temperature is critical. It indicates how well the respective test candidate is able to cool the fluid to the ambient air. The smaller the difference to be so, the more efficient the system. The air temperature we determine K102 with a digital thermometer Voltcraft, the CPU temperature is measured with Core Temp 0.99.5. The fluid temperature as the intermediate temperature in this test can not be read, unfortunately, interested can extend the circulation without problems with a temperature sensor.

The CPU is loaded with long Core Damage to the cooling circuit is in equilibrium and a steady state is reached - thus all core temperatures over a longer period (~ 20 minutes), no change adjusts more. Now we determine by K102 digital thermometer Voltcraft the room temperature and read about Core Temp of the CPU temperature. This test is performed according to the consistency of the measured values at least twice.

As load points based on the possibilities of the controller or a Aquaero the values 30/40/50/60/70/80/90/100 percent can be covered. The reason for the abandonment of a pure indication of fan speed is due to the functionality of the individual systems.
Temp Measurements and tuning option (Click to show)
As usual, the measurement results, that is the determination of the real power, the interesting part of a test. The iceberg-series is no exception, but in the meantime there are a number of competitors in which they must compete. To this end, following several useful comparisons with the compact cooling of competitors are shown. We start with a graph in the lower power class, as far from hypothermia with a thin (~ 30mm) a'la radiator and fan assembly easier Corsair H50/H60, Antec 620 or the products tested here, the Thermaltake 2.0 Performer, Zalman CNPS 20LQ or Enermax ELC120 known. It clearly shows that the iceberg prestige 120L undisputed leader, said the spread is currently at low speeds further - ie, the difference from the other products increased positive. For the same size house development performs noticeably better.

klutten-albums-cooleru7jie.jpgWarning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Interestingly, the following diagram. The comparison is not entirely fair, but takes the Prestige 120L against the competitors that come factory with a 45mm thick radiator, ie Corsair H80 or Antec H2O 920th Dual fan assembly is tested in push-pull configuration. With the significantly lower cooling surface Iceberg cooling should really bring up the rear - but I was wrong. The projection is somewhat lower, but again leads to the cooling of the test field. An advantage that may require users of small enclosures and where the space for a big radiator fan besides missing
klutten-albums-coolertpjjs.jpgWarning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
In the area of big brothers we continue eventually. Here is the comparison with the Corsair H100, which has previously gone through the test course. The two subjects are each equipped with two fans on one side and provide a convenient format through her 240 heat dissipation. The performance range of a powerful air cooler we have at this time been left far behind what the clearly severed Noctua NH-D14 shows. With nearly parallel course to cross the cooling solutions regulated voltage range of the installed fan, with the Prestige 240L abssetzt permanently ~ 2-3 ° C. During the development of this projection was a bit bigger, so I'll leave it all again on the ground in order to find out the difference.
klutten-albums-cooler8skmc.jpgWarning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
A final point of the pump is dedicated. This is due to the modularity of the system much more powerful than any other compact cooling. What constitutes a great advantage in the power delivery, in terms of volume, of course, not entirely beneficial. For details, but in the same conclusion. At this point it should be easily made only shows that the speed of the pump has only a minor influence on the temperature delta of CPU-to room temperature. In all normal test runs, the test system was again konditoniert its idle temperature ranging from 35-40 ° C, but not in this run to the pump. This was simply an interval of 10 minutes, the pump voltage is reduced by 10%, resulting in a reduction not quite the speed by 50%. Ultimately, the pump can be operated ~ 2,200 1/min - much quieter than at full power level. The same can be achieved by the supplied 9V adapter that can bear a speed of ~ 2,100 1/min. Considering that the temperature of a processor this class throughout the course of nearly an hour increases by only 4 ° C, it would be silly to this noise reduction is not to indulge in everyday life.
klutten-albums-coolerpzjgw.jpg
Conclusion (Click to show)
Since the product launch is not until November and there are still minor differences to the finished product, I want you to follow no definite conclusions. Summary, although identical meaning, it hits nice.

As someone who has been through since the beginning of the year, the entire course of development, the way to the finished product is a been very interesting. Many different floor panels and radiators have finally produced the currently available products, clearly differentiated from the competition in performance. The continuing failure of modularity is a significant difference and it will also result in the applications - which is, however, only occur over time when hobbyists obstruct the cooling systems in its PCs and modify. Qualitatively change the icebergs at a high level. Hoses, fittings and radiators from the area next to the full-fledged water cooling systems to bring value to a wide variety of ways to build in this compact cooler individually and expand.

A major sticking point remains (at least at the current time) the pump. Currently it is at full power very loud, what should be due to a incorrect exported storage. Here was to start series reworked on demand already, so at this point I can not make a meaningful statement about the volume. During development, the pump was noticeably quieter, so I'm hopeful. The high-frequency noise and the rattling undertone would easily wear down sensitive contemporaries definitely. Therefore, let us wait for an updated version, and then pass a final result.

On the positive side:
+ Cooling power
+ Modularity
+ Valuable components from the watercooling range
+ Water-carrying parts exclusively from copper
+ Extensibility
+ Intel motherboard mounting system without expansion

Negative at the current time:
- Volume of the pump
- Too small pictures in the manual (identifiability of the components)
- Missing Allen For reaction (Intel)
- Currently missing Load guide (Set will be available for product launch)

Test table and summary

The evaluation of the product is determined by a complex scoring system, which is seen here only partially. A large part of the criteria remains hidden and is here represented by a simplified system of a maximum of 5 stars. From here the visible stars, the final rating score can not be derived directly. As part of the narrowing field test shows now that the grading of the criteria must be revised to provide clearer results. An update follows in the wake of one of the following tests with subsequent new grade determination for previously tested coolers.

This point will be replenished as soon as retests regarding the revised pump storage are done.

I am only really interested in the larger one, as it is the biggest advancement in sealed loop cooling aability in a very long time. While I have no interest in these kinds of units for myself iit's about time for a change.

With tech prices, € --> $ tends to be around 1:1 and is not based on direct currency conversion.

Hope this is so, because if it is converted it's pretty pricey... we're looking at prices close to XSPC kits!

Cooler Master Eisberg Prestige Solo - 99,90€ --> 130 USD?

Cooler Master Eisberg Prestige 120L - 139,90€ --> 181 USD

Cooler Master Eisberg Prestige 240L - 159,90€ --> 207 USD

4 degrees is big. You can change the rad to a triple if you want, and get better temps. The H100 is very limited with its aluminum rad, as it can only dissipate so much heat.
Copper can still do more, even when you start adding more fans in a P/P.

You are not stuck with what you have. Realize that the Eisberg if fully customizable, H100 is not.

Wow, does not look bad at all. If the pump is as noisy (or less) as my DDC-1T, i might be sold on one for a project i have.

This really isn't a sealed loop though. It's prefilled and fully assembled out of the factory, but it is also easily taken apart and fully customizable. This is nowhere near the same as a H100, it's similar to the Swiftech H20 kits and XSPC kits, except it comes fully ready to go instead of assembly required.
