making my pc "mobile" /running my pc to the other side of the house

Hey everyone! (Hope I'm posting in the right place)

Now I live in a small apartment with no real dedicated desk for a pc since my wife and I are laptop users but I have my heart set on finally buying the components and putting together my gaming rig.

Idealy I'd like to make it so I can either remotely run my pc through my laptop or put a small monitor attatched to my end table in the living room and run cables to it so I can do some light gaming and browsing while on the couch with my lady in the evening. Basically I'm yet to find any real solution short of buying a gaming laptop, which to me is out of the question (joy of building + benchmarks makes this a foolish option imo)

So does anyone have any ideas for me on making this possible. I'm thinking of fabricating a mount I can clamp to my side table and then have my keyboard an mouse beside me while my pc runs in the other room, thats a lot of cable management but seems doable. Idealy though, it would be nice if I could run my pc graphics into my current laptop and just use it as a monitor and keyboard/mouse for gaming. I dont know if it's possible but if you've seen any creative solutions please share.

Thanks!

If you are talking about running a long length of cable from your PC to the monitor in the other room, I believe you will run into some interference issues with the video cables and shielding.

It might be possible to do some kind of remote PC thing through your network, but I am doubtful, and I am also not the person who knows about that kind of stuff.

The only thing I can think of to do it that way is to run a server version of Windows/VMware blah blah.

I'm not really seeing the issue here. You own a TV yes? Pick up a splitter and a nice long cable from monoprice. Hook said computer up to your TV as well as whatever monitor it will normally use. Buy yourself a nice wireless mouse and keyboard. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

Scared of stapling a cable to your walls? Use EVGA's wireless monitor solution.
