After not playing my xbox for a while, I picked up forza, but realised to play online, I required a wireless connection. I have the old 60gb xbox, and trading in was out of the question, so I set about finding alternatives to Microsoft's $100 adapter. I picked up this; http://bit.ly/Rsae9e as an alternative, and it worked great as a bridge (In the same way people would use a router for the xbox to create a connection).
Fast forward a few weeks, and after not playing due to exams, I go to play, and theres a patch. So I download it, and leave it as it seemed pretty large. When I returned with the patch complete (I presume) my internet connection had been lost completely, and I could no longer access live at all. 'Wired Network' is recognised in network settings, but it can't establish a connection. I reset my receiver several times and reconnected it to my network several times. It's still functioning as normal and responds to LAN and WLAN signals. What is going wrong? Has my 3rd party wireless adapter been blocked or severed by microsoft? Or have I missed something in the network settings or similar?
