Crossover 30Q5 Pro Monitor Club~ - Page 19

Hi Kolya. I live in Microsoft Office, both Office 2013 on Parallels 8 so Word excel powerpoint etc. All perfect. Documents looks great. It is not tempered glass.
Im in Australia and it was only the Kanex c30 dual link adapter i had forwarded to my shipito.com address as adorama.com wouldnt ship to Australia.
The monitor fyi for customs was declared at $200 by AW
I had no customs as in Australia to tax for items under $1000
For my mac mini from separate seller it was defined as a computer repair.. which is another way to define item and not be taxed often.
For $533 this monitor is great... and Ive been used to iPS iMacs for many years.. and the usual 1080p 100hz/120hz monitors too.
AccessoriesWhole is great! I dont have any issue or notice AG or sparkle. If anything a very very slight matte effect which suits me fine!

Thanks benbarren, very informative. I'm drawn to the crossover, but it doesn't have VESA fittings right? I aim to wall mount.
Hi Kolya not sure re Vesa. I thought they were all compatible? I will say I've been amazed at how smooth and high quality the back casing and pivot column is. You take the screw out and the monitor will simply stay in spot it's moved to horizontal or vertical. My goal is to have 3 of these running vertically, which was another reason i didnt spend another $150-$200 and get the monitor with more inputs. I can say after one week i am very very happy with the 30Q5 Pro Black from Accessories Whole that was $533USD direct. (also when many 27Q-P from good sellers that had been "tested" were going for around $430... and at least $390.... I think the 30Q5 Pro Black at $100-$150 more than this, the extra 3 inches for that much is a no-brainer.)
Not a bad pixel, I'm sure there must be a way to VESA mount... Best of luck!

Which top sellers of these have good English ? The most likely seller I will choose, or at least the names I remember right now are bigclothcraft, redcap, greensum, dreamseller

Next month I'm getting a matte screen, so I will have to request it special, then maybe haggle over price, AND IT BETTER BE MATTE, NOT GLOSSY.......and it better not be a load of extra money.

And English is a fusion type language if irc, and Korean is not. They better understand.

Maybe not all 5850 brands can output correctly to the monitor, that's why they say that the 5850 is not fully supported. In the end all work like they should. Expect first impresions once you have it delivered.

Just a sidenote: It was a little strange for me at first, to get used to the 16:10 ratio of the screen + the size of the monitor. I 've been using a 24" 16:9 BenQ for the last 2+ years. I guess my eyes got accustomed with the 16:9 ratio after all this time tongue.gif

Well, I ordered the 30Q5 Sunday night, and it arrived at 2:30pm Tuesday to Ohio. Less than 48 hrs from S. Korea, very impressive!!

One of the unlucky few, my bios post screen does not show on boot with my HIS 5970 / Sapphire 5850 Trifire setup. The screen comes on when it hits Windows. That is why they indicate "not compatible" with some of the ATI cards.

I have not put it through its full paces yet, but running quick pixel test screens, it seems no bad pixels that I can see, so very happy about that! The only issue so far is the little white plastic semicircle cover over the power light was loose in the box. I emailed the seller (accessorieswhole) to see what can be done.

Again, I haven't played enough with it but the matte screen was the way to go for me. I can see how some people may not like the slight "shimmer" but I sit near a bunch of windows, and glossy would be a killer. I do notice that the whites like a website or Word background seem a little off, but I am hoping to find a way to tweak the color and color temp without too much fuss.

Overall, very pleased with the screen. Just gotta figure out what to do about that small plastic piece over the power light. I will keep you posted.

Had the same exact problem, but no biggie, it just pops right in (sorta). I didn't mind, I kinda prefer if it's not on smile.gif

AFAIK, all 30Q5 monitors have the matte screen regardless of seller. I think the 3020 MDP is also matte screen but has all the different inputs. The Sparta, or the one with "tempered glass" is glossy. There also seem to be two versions of the 30Q5, one with white metal back, and the "Black" unit with all black metal. I bought my Black unit from accessorieswhole. Shipping speed was phenomenal! Really only 40 hours from purchase to delivery to Ohio. Your speed will certainly vary tho.
Cheers.

Just went through this entire thread to help me decide on whether or not to purchase a 30Q5 PRO. After a fair bit of reading, I decided to bite the bullet. one is on it's way!.
I will post about my experience ASAP.
Furthermore, I also own a 27Q, so will be happy answer any comparative questions people have!

Cheers,
Linden.
