heat it up so that the solder goes soft).

I haven't read up on this in a long time, so maybe take what I'm saying with a grain of salt, but just thought I'd

EDIT: If the CPUs are already delidded, well then never mind silly old me. biggrin.gif

I pulled them out of a server a while ago. I don't believe they ever had lids.

Last night I set ALL voltages/multipliers to AUTO, except RAM which I set to 800Mhz. It remained stable but I wonder how much it'll last

I was checking some images in my desktop and saw some JPGs where I was able to OC up to 3.4Ghz some years ago (it's 2.26 stock). Now damn thing won't even OC past 2.7. It's running at stock speed for now.
Well, I'm running my 6 cores at 4.4 stable on air. Gonna watercool it soon ''hope''

It's all about trial and error. It took me couple of days to make an ok overclock and a week to push it to as much as I can.

My sr2 does 200 with out any issues. However after that it starts to have issues so i might upgrade to a x5690 to get the higher multiplier

You're lucky to get stable 200. Mostly starts stability gets to issues at 190

Not enough space to copy PCI option ROM
Checking NVRAM...

And it doesn't work anymore... possible solution frown.gif?

Anyone know if the noctua NH-D15S will fit the sr2 without blocking the ram or pcie slots. I know the NH-D14 fits but i want something bigger.

Noctua 15 is already made for high ram, unlike 14, so there shouldn't be any problems. It should obstruct pcie slots also. More likely will depend how you will fit it as it has two fans. You still have 7 pcie slots, so there shouldn't be any problems
