Hello all,
Firstly, I want to thank everyone for their kind words about Adam. It's funny thinking I'm older than him, and he was MY role model. He really was just... such a phenomenal guy.
Secondly, I like the thought of doing a charity build. I'm sure NZXT would be on board to help with parts, and so is Jim. Unfortunately there are a couple of roadblocks.
1, it's up to his wife. While we could brainstorm all day, and build and build and build, it has to be done with his Wife's blessings. I sent her a message regarding this very subject, and told her, at the very least, that I'd want to put together a Memorial Fund. Unfortunately, she hasn't responded, but given the sheer amount of stress and pain she's going through, that's alright. I don't want to force her into saying yes or "bother" her with it because of what her and her family is currently going through.
2. Neither Jim nor I have the time currently to put together a build. We're both extremely busy and should a build be sponsored, we'd have to find someone that both Jim and I trust to get the build done and make sure the money gets to where it should go.
3. Parts. We'd have to find a majority of the parts. Given that Jim would be willing to throw a CL case into the mix, and I could get NZXT to sponsor some gear, we're still left with Motherboard, CPU, GPU, and other misc. items that would need to be obtained. And let's face it, if it's in a CL case, it needs to be watercooled, so, there's even more gear.
I'm not saying this won't happen, but the likelihood is fairly slim. Again, it all comes down to Adam's Wife's decision. And, whatever she decides, we must be supportive of her and her decision.
Regards,
Jason

I would love to see this rig come together, and would follow this thread all the way through the build
My respects to his family.
