Best Noctua Fans for inside of case?

Thread Starter
I bought a pair of the Noctua NF-F12 2 weeks ago to use with my H100 and I am absolutely blown away by them. My temperatures dropped by 5 degrees at load and I can barely hear them.

I wanted to get another pair to use in my NZXT Switch 810 case so that I can replace the really load and terrible included 140mm fans with my case.

Which Noctua fans would you guys recommend to use for inside my case? 120mm or 140mm it doesnt matter.

Also I have my case fans setup so cool air is always being pushed inside the case and the two Noctua fans on the top that are connected to the H100 radiator pull the hot air out.

Thanks

The P12's are their do-it-all kind of fan but the S12 can be better in certain scenarios.

Thanks a lot, think Im going to go with the NF-S12B. What would you say about the NF-P14FLX?

If you want 120mm and you are just moving air go for the S12 as it meant to push air around the case with little obstruction such as hhd cages, heat sinks and rads. As said above the P12 will be the do it all fan. The F12 is designed for high static pressure output for rads and heatsinks.

For 140mm you only have one choice for now, the P14. It does great, pushes lots of air and is really quite.

No if you are patience Noctua is slowly rolling out new fans in their new A series. Three fans have already been introduced, 40mm, 60mm, and slim 92mm. Two new 140mm fans are too be released also, one using a standard square frame and the other using a similar round frame design to the current P14.

first batch release:

My only experience with the P14 is with my D14, I've never used it as a fan case. I run four P12's in my case and have zero complaints.

I really wanted to get 140mm fans by them but I didn't like how their only 140mm fans were circular. When would you say these are expected to come out?

Suppose to be soon. I've been hearing Sept/Oct 2012. I would say sometime before the end of the year at least.

Lot's of people use the P14 as a case fan. The retail version even comes with adapters so it can use fan positions with only 140mm screw holes.

But the P14 usually uses 120mm screw holes, which is a good thing. Fit the fan wherever there is room for it. 140mm fans work beautifully in 120x120mm fan windows. They use the whole window, with little wastage. A 120mm fan only uses 78% of the window, at most.

I have the S12B. I don't use it.

Noctua fans can point their airflow up. For the P14, this ability makes it unusual (in a good way) among 140mm fans.

If you're going to use Noctuas for case fans, use the P14 wherever you can.
