If you got more than one game it was immoral and equivalent to stealing.
Some of you obviously have poor morals, bragging about your huge hauls like a gangster who just hit up a mom and pop store.
It's worse than piracy because you got a free ticket to do it, with no consequences, and now you brag?
Well done. Your parents did a great job. But hey, at least your "opinion" about EA has changed since they let you steal from them.
/rant.

try not be to condescending. just because you disagree with what people did, doesn't mean you have to talk like that. i'm sure you have done many things that are frowned upon, but no one is talking down to you. no one is perfect so please try to just disagree but not be mean.

i understand where people are coming from. ethics isn't law however, it is merely a guideline. no one ever said that it was illegal to be immoral. we live in a capitalist society, what do you expect will happen? i myself won't ever do anything stupid and illegal. but abusing something that is a free giveaway i guess is a little gray area. to put into perspective however miniscule this whole thing is:

remember when banks approved of A+ subprime mortgages that weren't really and made millions of dollars and eventually caused the economy and banking system to collapse which in turn needed a trillion dollar bailout? this is essentially the same thing. they abused the system in their favor. but this is obviously in a ridiculously grand scale. but things like this happen daily that no one is really doing anything about.

just remember guys to keep things in perspective. we are all arguing over something FREE that EA decided to give away that was taken advantage of because of poor website coding. let's not get too heated into ethical and moral discussions when a lot worse things are happening to us everyday. yes we shouldn't always take advantage of everything because we can, but let's also not judge too much because no one in here can claim they have lived perfect lives.

BF2142 is my favourite, and I own BF2, BF2142, BFBC2, BF3, and each series has all expansions/DLC.

It's the only "older" game that I will go back to playing because I love it so much. It's exactly the type of FPS that was created with PC gamers in mind, and I truly wish we can have newer Battlefield games that have the same feel, but perhaps updated graphics.

BC2 is fun, but feels like a clunky console port. BF3 is better, but it still feeks like a blend between PC-made game and console port.

the easiest thing to do, is give your money to steam if Origin decides to take away games, free or not.
because unlike origin, steam does not ban you if they make a mistake (other than a few minor instances that were resolved with an unban)

As someone who's been banned on steam, I would strongly disagree with that statement. All I did was accept a gifted game that the person used a chargeback or bad card to get, and they refused to unban the account.

If you are banned in Steam, can you still play games that are not valve made? I know that when you get banned in Steam, you can't play any source-engine game but what about other games?

Depends on what game you got banned from. For example a friend got banned for MW2 for using a bot's (Quick-scoping), yet he plays Source games without issue.

All the people calling this stealing need to grow up. These games were free and I personally saw nothing in exploiting the loophole to get some free games. The sheer number of people doing this made me know they weren't going to be able to handle it any other way than letting it go, and therefore I got some free games.

Unlucky for those that did the survey and got the coupon. That's just how this stuff goes.

No-one did anything illegal. No hacking was done and you didn't need any specialist software to break the system. Therefore it wasn't immoral and it wasn't steal.

Getting banned from a game is for cheating/hacks. Getting banned from an account is usually due to some sort of payment dispute.

Edit:
However, Steam recently stopped suspending account and just locking the account with reduced functionality.

Origin has something similar except the account is banned from online play. Only single player works in offline mode.
