new build need help installing HDD

Thread Starter
This is a brand new build, and trying to install Win 7 64 bit, but my bios and the win 7 installer is telling me there is not hard drive. I swapped the sata 3 cables with the cd rom that was working. The cdrom works just fine and is detected, but the hard drive is not.
So when I am in the win installer, it asks to install driver, so I go to detect and it comes up with the following.
the amd sata controller amd/64win764_ahci_amd (1.3.1.43)/amd_sata.inf) device driver could not be installed. Contact yoru vendor for updated driver.

I have looked everywhere and can not find anything but exe files, and no idea how i could use them

Here is my build. Any help would be so appreciated, i am simply at my wits end and not understanding what i have to do next.

Thanks a ton in advance!!!!

When my hdd is not recognized, it's usually because I forgot to plug in the power cable or the sata cable. Check...

I had the same problem last year, did u try to put in ur mobo driver cd? (cd came with ur mobo).
First put in ur window 7 cd, then when window ask for drivers, put in ur mobo's cd and look for the driver on cd, then when it done, go back to window install process and put back ur window cd afterward and continue there.. works for me.

AMD drivers can be finicky. Frist make sure your bios setting for Sata is set to achi and give it a try.

If that dont work, down load your drivers for sata/raid Here. Un pack them to a usb drive or burn to a cd.
goto install windows from Dvd, BUT instead of installing choose repair. When asked to load your drivers, insert the usb or cd in the drive. Select the W7 32 bit driver. ( I am aware you have a 64 bit.). once the drivers are loaded, Close the repair and select install. Now when you goto install, you should be able to use the 64 bit drivers.

Went to the repair and followed as you said.
Then went back to the installation. Asked for drivers as no hdd found. So I went to the driver on my flash, and it looks like it unpacks, but simply goes right back to saying no drive found

Try all the other sata connections on your mobo.

Could it be the HDD just failed. Try another HDD.
