Poem will not run on both 670's

Hello all,
I am running 2 670's and have found that I can run 3 Poem tasks on one card for the best ppd. But for some reason, I cannot run 3 on each card. Right now I am running 1 wu of DiRT on the other card.

Since I only have 4 cores, I tried going into the app_info file and putting Poems cpu usage at .5. This will bring up wu's on the other card but they just flash. The other card still runs though.

Any ideas?

I have seen that about Poem tasks but even when I try to run 2 wu's per card only 3 will run.

You wouldn't happen to have processor usage set to 75 % in preferences, you would get exactly that kind of behavior with it.

Presume all the BOINC settings are good... USE GPU/CPU while computer in use and Max memory allowed is set to 90% while in use etc... make sure POEM preferences are set to NOT use CPU or ATI GPU also...

Okay, several things...

#1- If boinc doesn't see the same amount of Memory Available on BOTH cards, that creates a problem (don't ask me why... it's a BOINC bug...)

#1a- If Problem #1 is true, then possibly your Mobo has built in video capability? That permanently messes things up...

#2- If Poem won't run on BOTH GPU's normally under Boinc 7.x.x, then you have to solve that problem first.

#2a- If #2 is true, then make sure you do a CLEAN driver re-install using the latest 306.97 drivers using the "EXPRESS" install option. I tried it with the other way excluding the 3D stuff and it didn't work.

#3- If it works normally, then set your system so it use 100% of CPU and DO NOT run any CPU tasks... Do a project Suspend on any CPU tasks and restart BOINC. Make sure SLI is disabled! Make sure the switch between tasks is set to at least 240 minutes and make sure you set at least 1.00 days of work. Abort all work in progress then restart boinc with App-Info.xml enabled...

#4- if #3 doesn't work, send me your computer and I will replace it with a really good used Pentium box...

I am not running any cpu tasks. I am going to try checking some more settings and stuff to see if disabling other things might work.

I was also thinking of putting the 2 670's on my other system to see if the extra cores (amd 8120) would help. What do you think?

I think if you can't run normally with two 670's without an app_info, then you still have a problem... and that has to be fixed before anything...

Good luck! I know these situations are sticky tricky sometimes to figure our...
