A good surge protector is plenty your power supply is PFC and it has a MOV which is plenty of protection.

The fabric of the universe shall be torn asunder and we will all die horribly wink.gif Wost case a power surge takes out your computer and all components hooked to it. Seriously though it is a good idea to use a surge protector with any electronics that you value. UPS is optional and good idea if you are working on very important material and have frequent power outages since if the power goes out anything not saved to hdd will disappear.

IDK, I sort of expect a PSU to not only power my devices, but also take the fall if somehting crazy happens. But then again I also have a nice surge protector...
i use surge protectors on all me systems and a UPS for my main rig and NAS as here we have poor quality power supply and a lot of black outs and spikes especially in the monsoon season.. at min a surge protector should be used in case. but thats just my opinion smile.gif
