Office Mesh chair under $200

I'm looking to buy a comfortable ergo mesh chair for under $200. Is it a bad idea to buy one this cheap or should I just dish out the cash for the super expensive ones like a Herman Miller Aeron? I've been looking at a couple and can't decide so I'm hoping someone here knows about this more than I do.

If you have sat in something like the Aeron or similar; it's worth saving a bit to snag one if you really use it for long periods of time. I managed to find a teknion contessa for $400 'used' (still had original tags/plastic on it). I'd spend some time looking for furniture re-sellers in the area or online to see if you can find a deal.

When I was doing my research I found a lot of the Hermon Miller Mirra and Aerons for a decent price that were used. I had both the HM Mirra and Aeron at my previous job...both were stellar. Unfortunately my current job has me sitting on a $50 POS office max chair for 8hrs a day (if you could call it that).

Basically think about it this way. You spend a decent amount on a bed...and sleep (well...maybe) 8 hours a day. Same thing with a task chair like these....if you truly spend a large amount of time in them; it is worth the investment. They won't crap out on you in a year or two either thumb.gif

I still have yet to sit in a high end computer chair such as the Herman Miller since no stores in my area seem to carry them. I'm a little bit unsure about buying a used chair, but that's just me. I'm really considering buying one of the cheaper ones under $200 since I'm also looking to buy a bed also now that you mention it.

If mesh isn't a hard requirement you should look into a used Steelcase Leap from Craigslist. You should easily be able to find one for under $200.
