max turbo is the highest clock speed the CPU can run at . Normally when the CPU has thermal power headroom left it will run at the max clocks. the 3450 CPU TDP is 77w with integrated graphics . when you run a discrete graphics card i am convinced the CPU has the entire TDP available so it will be running at 3.5 Ghz when you are running applications.

It's only 100mhz quicker but the turbo bins are faster (i.e. it can turn itself up more). Won't make much difference but for $5... yes!

Unless you get a 3570K, then yes, you aren't really going to be doing any overclocking.... it's basically why I recommend that chip if budget permits! But getting a 3570K and reducing the GPU budget instead is usually a bad idea.

Alright, my friend just decided to build his first computer so im just gonna see if anyone can set up a nice gaming computer build with $1000. There will be no overclocking at all so no need to worry about that, just a good gaming build, possibly a good gpu
