Some food for thought, the Quadro 2 is the PRO version. "The Quadro2 Pro is a high end solution with an estimated price of approximately $1000" Whoa!
That was 6 years ago...wow. This was actually worth that much then? o_O

If the GeForce card is the GeForce 2 MX200, and the Quadro2 is the pro version, than the Quadro 2 is a much better card.

The Quadro2 Pro used the NV15 and has twice the pipes of the MX200 which uses the NV11.

The Quadro2 Pro was also only made in a 64mb DDR version and was clocked at with the core at 250 and the memory at 400 DDR as opposed to the MX200s 175 core and 166 memory.

The only GeForce 2 cards that would be competition would be the GTS, or GeForce 2 Pro which used the NV15 and DDR but did not have the core clock of the Quadro 2 Pro (core clock is 200Mhz on both the GTS and GeForce 2 Pro, and the GTS had only 332 DDR speeds).

Any of those beat the hell out of the Rage Pro Turbo that I put into my moms old XPS T450.

I had a 64MB GeForce 2 MX 400. Lot better than the GeForce 3 cards...less compatability problems in games.

I have to agree, your gonna have to find out what kind of Quadro it is, if it happens to be one less powerfull than the gf2 and you go with the gf2mx rember they can overclock even without ghetto cooling and it would help with 1.6.

Even if it was the Quadro2 MXR (read non-pro) it would still be better than all but the GTS, Pro, MX 400 version above 32mb.

Quadro2 MXR: Core 200 Memory 175

MX400: Core 200 Memory 166

Even the mx2 DDR wouldn't be able to bet the Quadro2 MXR due to the 64 bit bus interface.

That's a TI; not an MX. The GeForce 3/4 MX's lacked newer features, and were not a large enough improvement to be worth the cost. They also had a ton of driver problems, and were unsupported for some games. The 64MB GeForce 2 MX 400 was the best MX card, IMHO. The TI's were apparently awesome...but I never had one.
