1366 from 2009

Thread Starter
Hello everyone I am planning an upgrade around february for my rig after having it since 2009 and making just cosmetic changes and purchasing the 570 for the release of BF3. I am planning to go for a 670 this time around I want a card thats 2gb Vram. I play @ 120hz. I am kind of confused on what to do. I am stuck in the middle between lga2011 and 1155 dont know where to go in terms of those 2 2011 seems like its going to have a long life and most "future proof", I will be keeping my drives psu cd drive all peripherals of course. The upgrade will be a 670 new proc ram and board as well as a closed WC loop most likely H100 ect or custom not sure yet. Any advice insight would be great. I need a kick ass board with a pci for my sound card as well.

I would wait for Haswell and LGA1150 which is rumored to come early 2013. The downside of LGA1155 is that it has no future beyond Ivy Bridge. The downside of LGA2011 is that it can be slow to get the newest tech, as Ivy Bridge versions haven't been released yet and likely won't be released till middle to late 2013. So if you go LGA2011 in Feb 2013 you will have a Sandy Bridge-E system which will be two generations old once Haswell arrives.
