Razer Deathadder 4G - Page 34

Today got mine DA 2013 ... Must admit previous opinions that the overall feeling is great. It is very grippy . I really like the rubber on both sides , the side buttons are also different, you need to press them harder... Depends what You like .

The top is made of plastic which surface is completely different from BlackEdition and DA 3G, 3.5G (rubber in this case) . It is a bit rough but much more grippy than BlackEdition.

LMB & RMB are more sensitive than in older DA editions , and I confirm that RMB is easier to click... It needs less pressure and may be bothering in daily use... Gonna try in practice .

But when I compare top buttons to old DA 3G I am pretty sure that they must have changed omron switches... My first impression : I prefer old DA switches which are much more perceptible .

I have not tested sensor yet so will post the results later....

Strange, I find Mouse 1/2/3 to feel exactly the same as my DeathAdder Black/Left-Handed editions. If anything I would say that the 2013 requires slightly more force to actuate due to the change in materials, rather than it being a different switch. I haven't opened up any of these mice to compare though, I'm only going by feel.

Only the side buttons, and scrolling feels different to me. I am comparing three brand-new mice though, rather than an older DeathAdder.

I can not remember buttons in BE cause I sold it year ago , but having almost brand new DA 3G the difference is noticable a lot.. Gonna rec a short video showing how the buttons are CLICKY .

I had actually just boxed up my DA:BE earlier today, and was comparing the left-handed & 2013 editions there, which isn't a very fair comparison.

When I brought out the DA:BE so I was comparing with the same hand, the middle click actually has a much better action than the older models, and it reminded me of how much I hate the wheel on my current DA:BE. (the LH and my old BE were fine) It's just far too loose. I think I might return it and buy another 2013 model for my backup after all. Of all the mice I've used, I liked the wheel on the Roccat Savu the most, as it was much stiffer and doesn't allow for accidental movements.

The action on the left/right buttons is very similar though, and I think the only difference is the material used for the upper shell. The LH shell seems to be slightly thinner than the BE, and the 2013 is slightly thicker/more rigid still. This makes the switch sound like it has a more positive action, but when I put on headphones so that I was only comparing how they felt, they were almost identical. I could be wrong though, it would be easy for someone to say definitively if they wanted to open up their mouse.

Either way, it's a definite upgrade over the older models, and the sensor is a huge improvement in my experience.

Ok... so I disassembled the top to see whats in

Here you go some photos:

and DA 3G pcb:

Looks like switches are ''the same'' or maybe not .. But to be honest, when I put my finger on both 'raw' switches in 2013 and 3G and started clicking I still noticed difference in action between them... maybe i am mad... biggrin.gif

Appreciate the photos.

What is the branding on the scroll wheel encoder?

can anyone confirm this?
they say you can backup this configuration setting file and restore it at anytime

nonamed, comparing your use of the 2013 Deathadder with previous DAs, do you feel like the 2013 DA has any input lag? I also got the 2013 DA as an upgrade from my Black Edition DA and I have found myself reverting back to my BE DA because my cursor and my movements respond instantly whereas my 2013 DA is slightly lagging in translating my movements onto the screen.
