Coolermaster 212 evo worth it?

Hey guys, maybe some one can shed some light on my little problem.

I have a coolermaster z600, a huge beast. Unfortunately I think it was a designed by a designer and not an engineer, so it may look really good, but I think there are better ways to cool a cpu down.

Now Im thinking of replacing it with a 212 evo for my fx 8120.

Currently im getting about 40-45 degrees c max, and touching 50 on a really hot day (push pull config). I've heard its not good to go above 50 degrees on amd cpu's, so I haven't overclocked it yet.

So hears my question, will getting the 212 Evo give my enough thermal headroom to begin overclocking, and will it be worth the money over my current cooler?

Unless the FX series went down in temps (Which I highly doubt) then the factory recommended safe maximum is 62C. Most people don't recommend going above 55C for a 24/7 overclock but that's up to you. Also, if you're running completely stock there's a chance that you could lower the voltage (higher voltages produce more heat than higher clock speeds, I've hardly got more than +1-2C from increasing clock without increasing voltage). So whilst the 212 EVO is an amazing cooler, I would see where you can get to on what you have first before you consider upgrading.
