Bad GPU or CPU bottelneck - Page 2

Yeh, basically what Forceman has said, a 3570K with a z77 motherboard. Or an alternative could be a i3 a H61 and a 7850. That should go well.

What Kind of Games do you play ?

Gotta tell you , but your CPU and GPU are both reaching thier lives end, Assuming your intrested in playing games like Crysis, BF3 etc.

So gets me back to my first statement, All depends on the games you play.

Overall, regardless of the games you play, you would definately benefit from a new Ivy+z77 as suggested earlier.

Quick question! Will a amd 8150 bottleneck on a Radeon 7970 or will it bottleneck on a nvidia 680 superclocked.

Phenom 965 is a very good overclocker, be sure to get that free performance out of it.

Sure thumb.gif

But will my DDR2 800MHz limit the OC?
No, it wouldn't but it would limit your performance somewhat, depending on what your doing.
Ref @ http://ixbtlabs.com/articles3/cpu/ddr2-800-vs-ddr3-1333.html

It doesn't really make a difference, but some memory heavy programs will be limited.

I really hate seeing this at OCN. People wanting to upgrade but really not wanting to save there money and do it properly.

Sorry OP but I would really save your money best you can and do a proper upgrade. Not saying that the 965 is not a good chip but it is a few years old.
Don't just through your money down the drain by buying old parts. I don't think buying the 965 is gonna give you that big boost in fps your looking for.
You really should just replace everything even if it's one part at a time.
