Then what's next? 60,70,80$? For a couple maps and a couple of game modes that rarely will be played? The way I see it and many others do as well is that these companies are pushing the envelope to see how much we can take lying down. They build the game (or in this case recycle it), release a portion of it and sell us the rest a little bit at a time. So now if you want the full game you need to pony up 100$+. They don't release mod tools until the new sequel is about ready or sometimes they never do. It is absurd. I remember when an expansion pack had some quality content in it. Something you could see and feel they put alot of time and work into it. Not these half-arsed DLC content they sell for 4 payments of 14.99$.

DLC's are nice and all, but once they're released it becomes harder to find servers that you aren't excluded from, and even harder to play competitively (with friends, etc.)

Why the hell would you buy a $60 game to begin with?

This so much. When I was playing Call of Duty more frequently ( been slowing down more and more lately frown.gif ) the $15 map packs ($60 for all 4) would last for a year or 2 worth of enjoyment of playing 2-4 hours a day.

I could go to the bar and spend and buy a round of shots for me and my friends, spend twice that, and it only last 2 seconds.

Expansions and add-ons at such a low price are worth it, given that you find the game enjoyable. Of course if you're a CoD hater, you aren't going to buy CoD to begin with, therefor you have no room to complain about expansions.

Funny thing is people are going to start talking about how BF3 is such a better deal.

Owait... $50 for 4 map packs and some zombies a 5th one everyone already has because it was sold/given away "free" before this offer existed... is that you BF Premium?

I paid $60 for Final Fantasy IV when it came out, easily worth the money. That was $60 in 1992, which is about $90-100 now. Game prices have been dropping for 25 years now and I still hear people complain about $60.

Rather than complain about the constantly falling game prices...let's complain about poor quality games instead.

I think you misinterpreted my post. Hes saying he can barely afford to eat, yet...is complaining about $50 DLC for a $60 dollar game.

My apologies if I didn't make that clear enough.

I see, yea that's more my fault for not reading the post you were replying to closely enough. I guess I'm used to people complaining about the price of games.

Something is only worth as much as people are willing to pay for it. Things always balance out in a free market (corruption not withstanding). If they were actually charging too much for it, people wouldn't buy it. Their sales figures show, if anything, that they're right at the sweet spot, if not under it.

Aside from all of that and the principle argument, $50-100 (adding game) for a year's worth of entertainment is chicken scratch to everyone except the poorest of the poor. A kid can mow 3 lawns and make that much money. If we were talking about a much shorter time span, I could understand the argument more, but we're talking a whole year here.. It's unfortunate that some people are impoverished, but I don't see how that has much to do with a luxury item such as a video game.
