[CVG] Call of Duty Elite service now free; DLC sold separately - Page 3

Eh, this will be my first COD game, but I'll just sit back and wait for a sale on the maps.

I see what you mean, and I respect that. I bought halo combat evolved special edition back in '01 I believe for 79.99+tax. That has to be 90-100$ now. But oh man was it worth it...I still play that game with the exact same copy to this day. But when a games price is 60$ because they spend 100 million dollars on advertising and 10 million on the game, that's just ridiculous. I'm not asking for 20$ games, I'm asking for 60$ games that are worth 60$ and cost 60 because a lot of process went into development of it. I am happily going to shell out 60$ for halo 4 because they put a lot of effort into the game. Cod, not so much

^this man all the way. While all of us may think of better ways to spend that money, to COD fans this is the best way to spend their $50. So don't hate just let those people spend their money on what they want. I know I bought some things that a lot of people would call me stupid for.
What's going on.

Exactly. $60 is a fine price for a great game, but $60 for a mediocre game just isn't worth it. What is good and mediocre is simply an opinion though, there are those on OCN that hate COD with a passion, and others that love it. As long as there are enough people that love the game then there will be demand for it, and basic economics would tell anyone that the price should not drop as long as there is demand.

Years ? 6 months after this purchase the 8 yo kid will ask his mommy to buy cod 78.
It won't last, it never had. Only MW1 did last the rest was crap.

There are still hundreds of thousands of people playing COD: BO and each of the COD: MW games at any time, I'd say they're getting their money's worth.

Also, where are you getting the "8 yo kid" thing from? The average gamer is 30 years old.

Most of the time DLC isn't worth the price in terms of content. But if you get a few hours of enjoyment out of it, why not.

However, I can't see myself paying $20 (Europe tier 1) for a map pack.

I think Zombies alone is going to make the packs worth it, especially since it's supposed to be even bigger this time around.
