Worth overclocking 1100T for more FPS in WoW?

Thread Starter
Title says it all.

I run wow maxed out 100%.

Runs on 6970 Sapphire 2GB, 8GB Ram 1600Mhz, 1100T.

Is it worth buying a cooler for this CPU, and overclocking it for more FPS on WOW

I get about 30-36 fps in Mist of Pandara when leveling around.

What should I ideally overclock to, and what FPS increase would I get?

I play WOW. I have Fx-8150 @ 4.5ghz with a 6970 (950/1450) and I only get about 45 FPS in Pandara.

In another game CPU dependent as Starcraft 2 with a 1100T from stock to 4ghz and NB to 3Ghz you gain 22 fps, so yes it will be worth it

Really? That doesn't sound right. I can hold 15-20 fps on full ultra running circles in the middle of Org on Illidan (one of the most populated servers, much more demanding than flying around zones in Panda but not quite as demanding as a 25man raid bc people are just running from bank-ah or standing still, and no casting), on my q6600 @ 3.2 and a 9800gt.

Well you have a slower CPU so he'll get higher FPS then you when he overclocks his chip.

Always OC.

The reason AMD CPUs perform lower than Intel CPUs is because of their IPC (Instructions Per Clock). Intel CPUs are known for their dominance in CPU intensive games.

On topic, make sure your NB is around 3Ghz for a performance jump. Your clock speed should be around 3.7 or 3.8GHz.
