Still waiting for advice.

Thread Starter
Since I am absolutely new to overclocking, I asked whomever to give me a point-by-point list of how I start this procedure. All I got was advice about installing heatsinks on my VRM, but nobody botherered to tell me what I do after that.
This can't be a new question from a beginner, so I would appreciate a list of where I start, possible changes to the BIOS, etc.
I've got a Gigabyte GA-880 motherboard with an AMD Phenom 1100T processor. I am not a total amature since I've built everyone of my computers since '96 and I know how to make basic adjustments in the BIOS.

Well first of all you might want to open up your mobo bios when your pc is booting up, take a look around there and famailarize yourself with the interface.

I searched and found this website for overclocking AMD http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,3637.0.html

Check that out

Yeah..Gappo's guide..best on the webz thumb.gif
Do everything in order..The order of which you do is important. biggrin.gif
I don't have much to add..Fuell said it all redface.gif

except ( i hope you have at least the ud3h) It seems your VRMs aren't heatsinked and it's a 4+1 board.
umm..If it's the one I'm looking @//it has the holes for a heatsink..so..look for one of those...
or get the Enzotech ramsinks and stick them to the VRMs and blow a fan on them.

Look guys, I really appreciate all this help, but it ain't hacking it .

How about if we look at it from this perspective . . .

I'm in the BIOS of my GA-880GA-UD3H @ Intelligent Tweeker. Here's what I have on the monitor:

IGX Configuation - WHAT DO I DO HERE?
CPU Clock Ratio - "
CPU Northbridge Freq. "
CPU Host Clock Control "
CPU Frequency " (greyed out)
PCIE Clock (Mhz) "
PCIE Spread Spectrum "
HT Link Width "
HT Link Freq. "
Set Memory Clock "
Memory Clock " (greyed out)
Dram Configuration "
System Voltage Control "
CPU PLL Voltage Control " (greyed out)
Dram Voltage Control " "
DDR VTT Voltage Cont. " "
NB Voltage Control " "
NB PCIe PLL Voltage Cnt. " "

Now, I know this is all very simple for those who've been at it for years, but it ain't for me. So, how about taking me through the various steps--without patronizing, if possible--giving me various settings to try?
Also, I've been advised to add extra cooling to the VMR, which I am going to do. The problem is on this particular motherboard, the stock heatsinks seem to be attached with an adhesive of some kind. How do I remove the heatsinks on both the Northbridge and Southbridge chips?
Thanks
