How often do you perform a registry clean up? - Page 2

In recent years, especially on personal machines... never.

In the past on personal rigs, every 6 months or so.

Still do it on friends rigs every now and then when diagnosing stuff.

Correct. I don't need to do anything, except get a bigger drive.

Wait...I know the defragging part can cause harm, but performing registry cleanups on SSDs can cause harm as well?

I perform registry cleanups/registry defrags/disk defrags whenever I install a large program, or turn off my computer (which is around once every 20 days or so)

Never have had to run a registry cleaner and my system runs as good now as it did when Windows 7 went RTM. Before that I ran Windows XP the same way and only re-installed when I had to do to hardware upgrades.

Now I never run it because of my two SSDs but I ran it every few months or so with Win XP.

Everyday with CCleaner + CCEnhancer.

I clean the registry one a week, junk file cleaner after every session, and full defrag once a week. I believe an operating system is just like a pet, you have keep it healthy or it will get infected.
