I'm tempted to just pick up another board and sell this, cause really I would love to run at 3.5Ghz @ like 1.0 vcore or even lower biggrin.gif
If you got it from Newegg or anywhere else for that matter, just tell them the board is broken and that none of the voltage stuff changes in the bios like it's supposed to and I guarantee they (Newegg) will give you a refund without a restocking fee.

I hear ya but I hate to cheat the store just cuz a mfg decided not to add in BASIC features

Edit: Very interesting... I flashed F1 bios (The first one for the board) It ran stock @ 1.068V and won't even boot at 3.0Ghz, probably cuz it would be running at 0.8V or something.

F2 bios states - "Improve system compatibility", probably updates the vcore as well

Edit2: Nevermind, I underclocked it and it stays @ 1.068V even at 3Ghz, even at 2Ghz biggrin.gif

Yes, and I realize they're both Realtek chips, but I'll be transcoding/streaming my entire media library form Oklahoma City all the way to my parents in Philly lol. I've already owned Asus' & Asrock's Z77 ITX, wanted to try something new, and I haven't owned a Gigabyte board since the X58A-UD5.

Edit: I just looked at Newegg's open box mobos and missed out on an open box P8Z77-I Deluxe @ $154 tongue.gif

Oh it's not that impressive as it's only to a Roku over a 40Mbps down/20Mbps up connection. I got them a Roku 2 XS two weeks ago so they'd get rid of cable and they're now addicted to Dexter. I've been using my Samsung laptop as a Plex server along with a Plex client on thir Roku. but I need a permanent server solution, so my laptop can once again become mobile. I originally thought I could do all this with a Raspberry Pi or another small, high performance arm box via XBMC, but I don't have enough time to sudo and get everything setup lol. A windows system with an Intel CPU (2105 or 3570K) will obviously be faster and it will double in use as an HTPC.

In case you're curious about those internet speeds, I have a friend out in Phoenix who has a similar package through Century Link and he loves it.

Update

Yea so Gigabyte gave me a response as well for Ctrl + F1 as well and saying it should work. However they are treating me like an idiot..
Code:
Dear customer.

Make sure to keep holding the "Ctrl" before pressing the "F1"

Sent : 10/17/2012 07:50
Question : When I am in the 2D mode and press Ctrl + F1, all it does is switch me back to the 3D mode

Wow!!! LOL I think I'm going wih the Asrock Z77 then. I've owned it before, it's available on Newegg for $135, and I can use the No-K OC feature if I ever run into a good deal on a used i5 3xxx non K chip. Thanks again for posting that ludicrous email response. I can't believe Gigabyte stooped to this level.

Edit: Btw, I acted as though I owned the board when I was on the phone with tech support. The guy told me to hit CTRL + F1 and I said it worked lol. This could be why they're treating you like an idiot . Sorry:p

Here is a video of me trying to get it working

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9gTAa0HAxk&feature=youtu.be

As for the board, I'm going to keep it and hope that Gigabyte fixes this via BIOS update\

Edit: I may grab the ASUS P8H77-I mITX for $100 tongue.gif
