GG and other gametypes wont keep the server full. Running a good tickrate server with admins that are active and a community feel with classic gameplay will be full whether on CSS or GO.

I think your more likely to fill a GO server then a Source server. My vote is for updating to a GO server.

This. I have been looking for a server to play on consistently on CS:GO. I would love for it to be an OCN server, but GG will not attract a continuous flow of people. A real server with a community is what drives servers nowadays - getting the same people in everyday/every week.

Would love to know if something like this happens, as I would be in the server most days while not at work.

I repeat this one.

Personally, I played 1.6 for long time, and still play. Never interested in CS:S except for the bunny hopping, but CS:GO feels nice. So go for GO.
If someone would actually ask me, I'd want a 1.6 server, but thats just silly, so make a GO server. The communities are made and sustained by the gamers, the admins job is just to keep the idiots out, after all.
