Northbridge heatsink worth it?

Thread Starter
From what i've read it seems that getting a heatsink for the northbridge is a good idea, especially if overclocking. Just curious to know if you guys agree and if yes, what are some good heatsinks?

Lets say it would be for an Asus P5B Deluxe and Core 2 Duo.

It wont hurt... I had a ****ty stock fan on my board and when it died I went crazy trying to figure what went wrong. Better safe then sorry.

The P5B runs quite cool, dont quote me on that, but a NB cooler is good IMO.

Definitely get something for your NB if you plan to OC it. Get one of these bad boys and put some AS5 on the NB and you're good to go.

Yes, if you plan some high overclocks, some extra cooling on the northbridge is a good idea.

Trans-sonic, I love your avatar.

For the price, its sometimes a good idea...check your temps first though...touch the sink after some 100% load and if its really hot, think about it

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not too sure how high i'll end up overclocking so I think i'll start out without a NB heatsink and add one if I need to.
