Having trouble over clocking my 3770k

Hi and hello!

New to this forum,

These are my specs

Asus z77 Sabertooth Mobo
Corsair h100
xfx pro750w power supply
msi gtx 680 factory oc
i7 3770k 3.5ghz

I am trying to over clock my cpu to 4.5 but I keep getting a BSOD (looked up the error codes) and says I need to up my vcore.

The thing is, I've looked at other peoples benchmarks and it doesn't seem like their settings go over 1.3

Mine is already set to 1.3 yet it keeps asking me to up my vcore.

Should i continue?

I havent touched anything besides changing the cpu to 45 and the v core to 1.3

Start slow. Dont go directly to 4.5Ghz. See what you can get stable at 1.3v first. Try 4.4

I don't know if I'm completely speaking out of my butt, but I remember when I got mine that some people were having difficulty OCing their CPUs and the common problem was traced back to the batch number.

Don't know if they've since solved the problem, but there's an Ivy Bridge owner's thread here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1250090/official-ivy-bridge-owners-thread

Actually all depends on the processor. Some like a lot of volts
