a 590 for 300$? damm... you're really lucky smile.gif but i still think you should consider upgrading your cpu, even a nice i5 2500K which is i think less than 200$ right now will give you a really great boost, a pretty noticable one too thumb.gif

My 2 GTX 580's OC'd to 900MHz run at 32C when just browsing, about 37C when playing video games, and about 55C when Folding@Home. Gotta love a fat water cooling rig.

I get about the same temp on my 6970's but with a gettho water cooling rig biggrin.gif one have a H70 modded and the other have an H50 also modded. They were both collecting dust so i picked up 5$ worth of tubing and worked things up a little. My idle is a little higher (40C) because i have two monitors. It drop to loe 30s with just one.

True, but then again, you aren't running a "heat whore" of a Bloomfield CPU. wink.gif

I can't wait for Haswell to come out so when I upgrade my temps will be even lower. That old i7-965EE of mine isn't the coolest thing to OC.

I'm also running 2 monitors as well, that's why my idle temps are up there too.

I was about this close to jumping the upgrade gun today and head down to Microcenter and get a new case, mobo, RAM, and cpu and upgrade ... but the urge passed. The wife would have been pissed. wink.gif

... Scared that she would heat you up? rolleyes.gif My wife is what heat up the most out of my rig too!

You guys/gals have decent temperatures! Damn, I'm starting to think there's a problem with my system, haha.

I have a NVIDIA GeForce 6800 with 128MB video RAM (AGP 8x). It idles around ~50 degrees Celsius on start-up, and after the system is constantly running for an hour (no gaming or videos whatsoever, just web browsing), the GPU hits 63 degrees. Under load, it's at 70-80+ degrees plus (monitored using MSI Afterburner).

I've tried adding additional fans (one on the side of the case, and replaced the back fan with an evercool).

These newer cards come with massive coolers...over engineering at its finest.
