Looking for a good monitor over 1080p

Ok so i call myself a hardcore pc gamer and here i am playing my games at 1080p. something about that just doesn't sit right with me. Not to mention i have a second gtx 680 4gb twin frozr on its way from the egg. I doubt i will even be able to push both of them with my crappy 1080p tv. i kind of wanted to down size a bit anyways do to how bright my 47 inch is when gaming at night while the ole lady is sleeping. Anyways anyone suggest what i should get. i want the best picture quality and reliability i can get while trying to keep it under a 1000$. It would be nice to say 500$ but i don't think its going to happen with good picture anyways. 27 inch is just fine as far as size is concerned.

You can get the Catleap lcd's for pretty cheap, 1440p led ips. When I bought mine it was $400, no dead pixels and looks great.

Microcenter has the 1440s for 400. those are similar to catleaps

korean ips is the best bet for going above 1080p and not breaking the bank. Microcenter carries one brand of a korean ips 27" @ 1440p. There is few different brands and i don't know much more than the 2b catleaps were really popular when they were/are available.

i keep hearing alot of things about these catleaps. only thing is i also see some stuff about the power plug and and setting up the color being a pain. I managed to find a catleap 27inch for under 400$ should i jump on it.
