CPU 100% spikes?

Thread Starter
Ok, so ive been having this reoccurring problem, after about an hour of use on my system, I will start to get CPU spikes to 100% every 2-3 seconds, making the system almost fully unresponsive, skype is almost always running when this happens, but right as i notice the system start to lock up, I end the Skype process, but the CPU spikes continue. and the spikes are so quick that when im monitoring programs CPU usage, I can never see which one goes to 100%..

If anyone can recommend me something, or help in anyway, id appreciate it!

Well, can you tell us the system specs?

Also, flash the BIOS to the latest version, check power saving settings ( I would bet money that a power saving setting is your issues) , and double check your MSCONFIG settings to make sure you haven't limited the hardware.

Is my Rig not there? I can't see it on my post, but I've set it up in the rig builder already.
