Mini iTX Powerhouse for Graphic Design/Gaming

I have been using my Acer 4820TG Laptop for two years now as my primary computer and it is certainly showing its age with its 5650M Mobility. That combined with me entering a program that is built around web design, I wanted to build another computer. My last desktop computer had a Core 2 Duo e4500 and was upgraded to a HD 4850 in it, so that tells you how long its been since I've built one. I want to build something small that I can probably add a handle to later as I do move around quite a bit. The prices listed are what I've found the parts at shipped and here's what I've got so far:

Intel Core i5 3750K - $195
Antec Kuhler H20 620 - $57
ASRock Z77E-ITX - $150
8 GB Samsung DDR3-1600 Extreme Low Voltage - $45
Gigabyte GTX 670 Windforce - $360
120GB Kingston Hynix 3K - Already Own
Silverstone SG05BB-450 - $97
Yamasaki Catleap Q270 Multi 27" - $350

Total: $1254

Any areas you think it would be wise to save money in or areas I could spend marginally more and get increased performance? Also, I am debating whether to buy the Multi version of the Korean's or not. I have an XBOX 360 and it would remove the ability to use the monitor for it if I didn't get the multi, but I've heard of input lag issues. Any suggestions in general are welcome!

Change the case to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119261 this. I would not trust that silverstone case. Newegg discontinued the product, and the cooler master case has USB 3.0. Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo.........yeah.

Then, I would get a AMD 7970 instead of the GTX 670. If you want a catleap monitor, then you should probably want the 3gb of Vram.

Otherwise, great build. thumb.gif

The case you suggested looks a lot bigger than the one I had, which does bother me a bit. Do you know why it was discontinued or what issues there were? Also, I would definitely go with the 7970, but I was told that there are significant advantages to use nVidia cards for web designing due to the CUDA cores. That along with my terrible luck with drivers on both my HD 4850 and Mobility 5650 do worry me. Have their driver issues been figured out in the last 2 years? Thank you for the advice though! Just want to be sure on my picks.

Also, is it recommended to upgrade to 16GB of RAM since I will be using the CS6 Master Collection and if so, which sticks do you recommend?

Silverstone case also have usb 3.0 and it is still in production.
You should create thread in SSF section, there you will get more help.

Or theres the Fractal Design Node 304. Here's an "unboxing" video:

Maybe another ssd for a raid or a 240(ish) one as a single drive? You might enjoy the space.

I just read a review on Anandtech from August that still suggests the SG05 as one of the best Mini-ITX cases plus under $100 for a good Case + PSU will be tough to find anywhere else. My main concerns now involve the RAM, Graphics Card, and Monitor.

Yeah I recommend 16GB for CS6 also. I top out 8GB on a regular basis with Photoshop, Illustraor and Dreamweaver when I'm doing web design.
Run 2 8GB kits of the Samsung prehaps. Unless you plan on going 32GB later on.

Unfortunately with a build as small as this one, I need to go with 2x4 or 2x8. I wish they had the Samsung Wonder's in a 2x8 setup, but they don't. Any suggestions on which to grab?
no sir, and there are few options for low-stack 8GB sticks.
there are plenty of good 2X8 options but Samsung tech hasn't yet reached that market

edit:
I too am looking for some high-performance 8GB sticks but havent yet found the silver bullet.
I have heard well of the LP corsair vengeance pieces being lenient with timings, not so much with voltage changes though.
