Steam finally adds option to change game install location.

Thread Starter
I was just going to install a game on Steam today and instead of the usual I got this window.

Looks like Steam finally fixed one of the biggest problems I had with them.

I don't know if everyone has access to this as I tend to get in a lot of betas but even if not, it is coming. Soon.

Yeah its a nice feature that came with the beta.

However not every game can be installed to a different drive. Maybe its a bug or maybe some games are not allowed I am not sure.

Still a very neat feature. Had to come sooner.

On my last clean OS install I installed steam on my 2nd SSD drive. Not the boot SSD. Its good to have steam and some games there. I installed games that wont benefit much from being in an SSD to my HDD via this steam option.

But the Steam Mover application also does a very good job.

That's what I'm going to do. I have a current 90GB SSD that will just be for Steam, and then my 256GB M4 for boot and programs. smile.gif

I solved that problem when I got my first SSD drive. I just installed Steam to one of my 3tb drives and then all my games install there.

Did you ever try the application called Steam Mover?

This has been on steam for a couple of weeks now. I haven't had a chance to try it out because all of the games I would want on my SSD are already moved with steam mover.
