Have i got enough power?

Hello, my specs are
I7 3820 stock speed
Asus p9x79
G.skill 2133mhz 16gb
Asus 6950 2gb direct cu 2
Ssd 128gb
Hdd 500gb
Some LG optical drive
Noctua d14 with those 2 fans
Antec nine hundred two v3 4 fans always running at max speed which is 2000rpm i think
My question is will a seasonic x660 run all this as my computer has been playing games with me and not turning on after pressng the power button 50 times but when i turn it off and on from the psu switch then power it on, it suddenly turns on
Do i need more wattage ?
Do you even lift cuz?

Should be more than sufficient. Maybe there is a short in your power switch? Does that mobo have a power/reset switch directly on it, and if so, have you tried that?

EDIT, wait, you're saying you're having this issue with your current PSU? It could be that PSU itself. I'm no PSU guru, but I've never heard of it. smile.gif

2nd EDIT, I see it's a CoolerMaster. I know the name, but hopefully someone with more knowledge in PSUs will chime in with more help. smile.gif

Nah man its a seasonic. X660, ihavent upgraded my rig thing on this site , i even disconnected the power sw plug from mobo and tried another switch on the damn thing and still didnt turn on, i even sent out my psu for testing and it worked brilliantly

using OCN's PSU calculator i get 475W so yes i would say a seasonic x 660 will be fine.. tho i like to go a bit higher incase you start to overclock
maybe a nice 700 - 750w would be nice

edit.. are you saying its the seasonic that is giving your troubles?

Yea man thats why i thought it would be enough but then i went on asus power supply calculator and its telling me the recommended minimum is 700w, i upgraded my whole computer thinking it was the motherboard and the problem is stillhappening

you sent it out for testing and it worked brilliantly.. hmmm maybe it doesnt have the power you need.. seasonic x series are good PSU's and i could say get a new PSU such as the Seasonic X-760 80Plus Gold 760W

i have always been thinking when it first stuffed up there wasnt enough power, but im just going to wait for more repsonses, because its a bloody close to brand new power supply only got it at the start of the year and it worked fine, i always had my fans on max and occasianally when gaming turned my 6950 fans upto 100% which i think is 3500RPM and it went fine, but now its been so annoying having to hope for my computer to turn on in the morninig

No, you have more than enough power for that system, easily. If you actually overdrew the PSU then it would either shut down or do a hard restart, so in your case the problem lies elsewhere, especially since it has been tested outside of your computer. Even if your PSU was underpowered for your system, it would still turn on regardless, just, as I said, it would shut down when overdrawn when load is put on it.

Edit: As an example, if your PSU was not powerful enough you wouldn't have been gaming on it flawlessly.

Is there any one out there thats had these problems as i cant find a solution, ive even tried a new power switch and computer stilldont turn on, only way i can get it to turn on is if i turn it off from the wall switch and then turn it back on
