I would love an arcade machine in my joint but they cost too much..so gonna have to go the emulator way.

I'm completely new to the whole MAME thing, and have no idea what controller to get/where from.

Any help much appreciated.

what game(s) are you gonna play this with? You may wanna try some HORI sticks, like the HRAP v3 for figthing games, or find a stick builder. of course sanwa buttons ftw.

Cheers, yep I ended up going with the hori mini fight stick 3.

Great unit, except was a bad move for MAME as the joystick is recognized as a PoV hat, not x/y axis. So I can't map it properly for games like Star Wars trilogy arcade.

Works though, was playing AvP before I had to come back to work. Really wanted to play sw trilogy, the mouse works with it though.

Havnt tried a fighting game yet but hopefully it works ok in MAME for them

Yeah my main gripe will be finding one that the PC recognises as a joystick, not just PoV hat. Using supermodel 0.2 for sw trilogy, you can't map the stick properly and pretty much doesn't work, have to use mouse.

Been looking at x-arcade too.

Are there any drivers anyone knows of or a hack/fix that makes windows are the joystick on the unit as a joystick, not a hat?
