Second sig rig:P I'm doing the recording on my desktop and sending it to the media server, the DISK drives in the media server can do 100+ in sequential, Only need em to do 80+ i do beleive it's the network thats not being up to par.

I understand that, but taking the network out of the equation would be easier and less headaches in the long run rather than trying to diagnose it. You could buy a smart switch and team the network interfaces, but you'd need to do it on both sides (client and server, 2 a piece).

If you really want to find out if its the disk or network then move both disks into one system and see what speed it copies the data at.

In my experience, copying to different drives that are capable of 100+ MB/s in benchmarks can never copy from one to the other at those speeds in a local machine, much less a network.

So I am going to say its probably the disk I/O as well.

Also, for reference I could get speeds of 100 - 115MB/s on my old gigabit network sustained. It used a Linksys WRT 610N with DDWRT firmware as the hub.

I currently moved and have most of my network on powerline adapters which I highly recommend. They wont be gigabit speeds but I can reliably get 8MB/s minimum where I could barely get 2 or 3 with wireless unreliably.
