unlike most of my family, my hearing has a sensetivity to lower frequency bass, and overly high treble, thus making me the one who EQ'd everyones stereo to something normal, because half of them are near deaf from earbuds.

tried my friends beats headphones for under 5 minutes and had to take them off, the bass drove me insane.

put it this way, beats are worse than my 12 year old, 35 dollar sony monitoring headphones.

I would be older than most here on  OCN(not that it matters), but I seen a young guy wearing three pairs of beats headphones on the S-Bahn here in Munich, Germany.

One pair around his neck, and a pair hooked to each hip pocket.

I just thought "OMG Idiot Alert", wish I had took a picture.

It really did drive home just how much these are viewed as a fashion accessory, which is pretty sad.

But why judge a person based on what products they like and looks.

Monitoring headphones are quite a bit different than the norm, even the cheapies. They're supposed to be almost unrealistically revealing for... well, monitoring. It's the reason they're also not typically considered by those trying to enjoy the music. wink.gif

If I can, I'd like to demo these. It's a habit I'd like to get into; maybe find that unknown gem somewhere that lets me hear my usual favorites in new ways. It's amazing how different the same songs can sound through different headphones.

i have tritton pro's and they have four separate speakers in each earcup(including a subwoofer) , 7.1 dolby, but i run them at 5.1 , the sound is amazing. it's 3d. you hear up , down, in front , on each side, and behind you. when i listen to high quality songs, it sounds like i'm in the middle of a recording studio. now these are $200+ headphones, i bought mine used for $150, i have a hard time believing that those dr dre headphones have better sound or even/especially warrant that pricetag. everybody thought i was nuts to pay what i did for my headphones, but once i put them on my friends heads and let them experience them, every single one of them said the same thing, "OMG, THIS IS AMAZING" , i suppose it's like in the old days when people were paying $65.00 for jordache jeans, rolleyes.gif
