Headphones ?!?! 7.1

Thread Starter
I put this in PC games because i want a headset for TS and gaming... i had a old razor headset (carcharias) that sounded great and the mic was flawless... i just spent 180 on a razer tiamat and am EXTREMELY disappointing with the mic quality..i saw on newegg reviews people complaining about it and i thought it was just one of the things where people are to picky but this is really unacceptable to me... does it work, yes but i sound like i have a cold all the time, muffled etc... im not new to headsets so i know about positioning etc.

Please help suggest a 7.1 headset... plaintronics makes a few and Logitech i know they both make mics etc and should be good mic quality but i thought the same about razor and have been disappointed

i just got a new sound card from newegg. only a 80 + $ one, and thats all i want, dont give me the bs about the soundcard is everything... dont want to go all out... so try to help me find one thats also the individual mic jacks not USB

Maybe ?
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=pcat17005&type=page&_requestid=25852

sale 100 off. would be less then i paid for the razers

I would look at the Audio technica AD700s they have a huge sound stage. Surround is simulated anyways. You would be better of with a good set of headphones with a large sound stage rather then these gaming ones that are junk.

I have had both Logitechs and Razers gaming headsets both died within one year and were garbage. Never again!

Headphone 7.1 is fake. It's still 2 channel audio.

Check out Sennheiser's PC350 headset. I've had mine for close to 3 years, and the audio quality is amazing. The mic is also amazing.

I agree with this! I also did the same thing and all gaming HP are junk. All headphones that say 5.1 or whatever are all fake too. It's just an upmix.

I would highly suggest you get the AKG K550s. Incredible detailed and amazing sound stage, plus very comfortable. You'll complaint about all the badly recorded material out there, because they show it so easily. Then maybe get a clip on mic of sorts to connect to the PC. You'll get better mic quality that way too.

Plus they look awesome and are VERY well made.

This.

I have the AD700s too and I love them. They have great sound and they are also really comfortable too. I've had tons of gaming headsets in the past and I wish I knew about the AD700s back then and didn't waste all that money on all of those headsets.

zalman 5.1

you can not go wrong with them m8.

i have a 7.1 headset and they are 5h**

the zalmans are true 5.1

6 speakers and 3 jacks for the speakers i am going to order another set at the end of the month as the others have seen a bit of wear and tear on them from my little one and me.

get teh one with the mic and not the usb one.

and the price is not to bad as well

those boom mics on gaming headsets are a gimmick. You pay a premium for the convenience of having it and are priced accordingly. I would recommend purchasing the AD700's and the zalman clip on mic like the users above me have said. Its amazing. I do not regret purchasing them

Just a warning... I've had two pairs of AD700s and both were damaged within the year of purchase. That's why I went with the AKGs. I suggest you look at getting some sturdier and maybe made out of metal than plastic. That's why the AT kept getting damaged from wear.

I own the Corsair 2000's wireless and I play primarily CS:GO and Guild Wars2. I vouch for them and they are all in one so you don't need a sound card which means you can save money! Voice clarity according to my Ventrilo/Ts friends I sound great even when I'm grumbling. I would recommend them simply because you are on a budget.
