First timer needs a helping hand!

Thread Starter
My first attempt at a build, motherboard, 3 GPU's, SSD and Power unit were given to me and I have added from there. Mature student on a very tight budget but wanted to put together a gaming rig with possibly some rendering at a future date.

I had intended to crossfire the GPU's but I have heard conflicting opinions on whether it is worth it.

I switched on for first time today, case fans came on and the fan on one GPU but the CPU fan just does a quarter turn every 5 seconds or so then stops.

Now I am a noob and I wasn't sure what to expect but I was so paranoid about the CPU overheating that I switched off again pretty quick. Nothing appeared on the monitor screen either while switched on. Is this a problem or did I not leave it on long enough (probably on or around a minute)?

I am completely learning a new skill here so any suggestions and advice greatly appreciated

Oh dear, how do I add my sig with build on it to bottom of my post?

Lol, I was just guessing. I think AMD has the pins on the CPU. But Don't worry, Now we troubleshoot thumb.gif

Ok, 101, are all power cables connected (8-pin CPU, 24-pin mobo, 3x 6-pin for the 5830's)
Next, Make sure the RAM is pushed in properly

remove all stick of memory & leave just one...swap it between all 4 slots until it boots or the same result, then we can try something else.
