Also is your CPU cooler fan connected to your Mobo properly? I wouldn't be running your setup without CPU cooling....... well you can always turn it on for a few seconds to see if it boots but after that i would turn it off.

i'm pretty sure it's connected properly, like I said, it tries to start then stops and reverses a little bit so it has power, and no I am not running the system without cooling but I have switch on to test, only for a few seconds at a time tho

Disconnect the power cables from all drives, fans, DVD....everything. Just Leave the '8-pin & 24-pin' connected to your mobo from the PSU.
& the 6-pin going to the GPU from the PSU. Use a different stick of ram, but just one. Remove all USB connections from the back, keyboard, mouse speakers..everything. JUst plug the screen cable into the 5830... and test.

Ok, last try before doing the dirty stuff, check the cables going from the case to the mobo header (Power, reset, HDD led...etc) .....remove all of them and re-install the power one.
& just to be sure, remove the GPU and install another one, also another stick of ram biggrin.gif sry budy

ok, tried your last with all 3 GPU's seperately and only one worked! My friend has more of those so should be able to replace. the only other difference this time was that when I switched the off button on the front and kept it pressed to switch off, at the very moment the power goes off, the cpu fan starts at full speed then stops as power goes off
