Rosewill RK-9000I (White) vs CM Storm QuickFire Rapid (Black)

Hi, im about to get one of this keyboard, based on reviews and experience you may have which one would be best?

im really interested in this one since is white and matches my white-black-red theme that i have on my pc, becaue i have the Corsair 600T SE white thumb.gif

Rosewill Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Blue Switch (RK-9000I)

or this one
CM Storm QuickFire Rapid - Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with Red CHERRY MX Switches

so now let me explain something, as far as review goes the CM have more positive reviews, but Rosewill negative ones are the USB connector which many of them get broken. but i guess that should be
bad luck because a company shouldn't be selling products if they are going to brake that easy right? so i guess people who ran into this issue, it may be due to using the keyboard in wrong places or i dont know smile.gif

any thoughts?

I think they both look nice. It all comes down to blue vs red switches. Blue switches gives you tactile feedback when you press the key halfway down and makes clicky sounds when typing. The red switches does not have that so flows smoothly all the way down until you bottom out. Both red and blue switches activate when pressed halfway down.

If I were you, I would try to go out to your local shop and test out the feel between red and blue switches. ( There are also black and brown switches.) I personally like the red switches but many people like the tactile feedback from blue and brown switches.

thanks for your opinion, well i live out of the states, so there is no way i can test that out, but i think im towards the red ones.
but at the same time i like the white and black look the rosewill have.

Isn't that rosewill basically a rebadged filco. I think you can also get both keyboards in pretty much any keytype, red, black, brown and blue.

I think they are both very good then, so it's down to whether you want tk less or not and looks.

Same factory.

Different shell, controller, pcb, firmware, cable, box, connectors, keys and warranty.

Kinda like saying the Amazon and iPad tablets come from the same factory.

+1

The fact that both are made by costar (iirc) doesnt mean that a Filco is just a rebranded Rosewill (see what I did there?).

The rosewill RK9000 v2 had issues with the micro USB connector. You might want to be sure that this version doest not have it before purchasing it.
I find the rosewill keycaps to be a pleasure to use. I replaced my baclwidow's keycaps with those that came with my now broken rosewill rk9000 v2.

Never used the CM. I cant comment about their keycaps.

Sure glad no ones worried about mouse OEMs. Would drive me crazy reading some of these post.

I'm just going to keep saying Foxconn and muddy up the waters even more.

But it DOES give something for Geekhackers to talk about other than ClickClacks.

No, we'll still think of CCs... or meth keycaps.

That thread neatly illustrates why Geekhack is Breaking Bad.

http://geekhack.org/index.php?&topic=36003.450

Walter White would have handled that fiasco differently.
