[UPDATE]
I have tried to use resource monitor. Note the use of the word 'tried'.
I can't make heads or tails of this thing.
I can select to start monitoring my Performance....and get around 150 line charts.
I can add counters, but instead of being clearly labelled as RAM usage/CPU Frequency/HDD Read Speed they have names like BranchCahe/WININET/octets du server. Yeh, its in french.
Is there any free third party software I can download and select what I want to monitor without learning what WSMan quotas and Active Shells are? mad.gif
PS: Notebook check has released a benchmark for world of tanks 8.0 version: http://www.notebookcheck.net/World-of-Tanks-v8-0-Benchmarked.83065.0.html
The interesting thing is that the lowest GPUs on the scale have SLOWER CLOCKS than my actual 675MHz 8400GS...This is making me sad. When I try minimal settings as defined by the game client, I get 10-12 fps, not 25.

Sounds to me you're using PerfMon and not Resource Monitor. Are you by chance still using XP? If so, sorry can't help. Never did figure out how to get PerfMon to give me anything understandable. Another thing, forget about doing a direct comparison of your GPU's clockspeed with the ones on that chart. Doing a direct clockspeed comparison and expecting your GPU to be faster is like saying a Pentium 4 3.2 GHz is faster than a Core i5-3317U 1.7GHz Ivy Bridge. By the way, did you notice that the Sandy Bridge integrated graphics gets 44 FPS on low? tongue.gif

Resmon doesn't log the graphs...so I can't post them here.
Using windows 7 though, sorry.

I understand a direct clockspeed comparison is of no use, but for two card with the same number of pipes, from the same company, one has 400MHz clock and the other 675MHz...there has to be SOME difference :/

[Update]

I made my game one step ****tier. I removed the speedtree files. This means instead of using mods to reduce the foliage and trees to naked tree trunks (reduced to 1KB transprent textures) , the game doesn't even load the files anymore.

The result is a straight capped-at-40fps performance on most maps.
I think I won't be buying any SSD's then thumb.gif

Thank you all OCN members for helping me. I have learnt a huge amount from this thread, and I hope to meet you again in the future!
