I've had Capstone 450W and 550W in use with gaming rigs (overclocked Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge, GTX 500 and 600 series GPUs). Noisiest part is the GPU fan, and that's on an open test bench. Can't really hear the PSU fan. I'd say that is "good enough" for most people.

Then again, there exists the possibility of variances. Maybe the ones I purchased happened to be quieter than the norm?
