Thanks! And I'm envious of you being able to take a month long vacation
from both work and the Internet... I could really go for one of those! But yes, it's nice having a working build as well.

Thanks man... wish it wasn't so heavy so I could take it outside for some cloudy day pics like yours. Although I think it does way more to show of a white build as opposed to a black one. I'll definitely be doing a white S5 or SM5 soon I think!

I swear I did not know you had a build log until today.
Because I'm a
master of build-jistu... either that or I'm just really bad at promoting my threads... which is more understandable because I don't really consider it to be anything "special" - although it's plenty special to me as I can use it again! YAY!
Oh and not that I give even the smallest of credibility to Microsoft's WEI ratings - at least for anything other than to give a decent idea of how Windows itself will work - certainly don't consider it a good test of overall performance... but considering I haven't yet delidded the CPU (so I'm running 4.5GHz super stable for my clock currently) and haven't even tried to OC the RAM yet... I'm pretty good with this:
This is my definition of 'super stable' (just couldn't wait to go to bed for the full 24hrs... but I think 23.2 hrs is probably close enough
Check the peak temps too... lots of headroom at 4.5... unfortunately this chip is so hungry it takes nearly .1V more just to get to 4.7 stable...
For those that don't want to hurt their eyes or scroll around the original image - Prime stable 23+ hours hottest core 83C coolest 73C. CPU running 4.5GHz at 1.301 Vcore... so needless to say I will be delidding... but I might just sell this CPU and buy another to try out the lottery again - either that or see if I can get a 5.2+ binned 3770K from someone jumping ship to Haswell for at least a halfway decent price (i.e. I won't pay more than twice retail just cuz it rocks) it's not like this chip isn't fast enough for everything I do... just would be willing to pay a little more for that last 5%
