Do i need to upgrade?

Thread Starter
Hi guys,

I just replaced my old graphics card on my system and im at the moment thinking if is also worth upgrading the ram.
This is purely for gaming as i don't do much else with my rig these days.
At the moment i have 3 x 2gb of Dominator GT 2000Mhz, im still happy with my Rampage 3 Extreme and with the processor, well and the rest of my setup for that matter but i was wondering if is worth steeping up from the 6GB to 12GB or whatever and if so what is the best way to go.
What is out there good for the Rampage 3 Extreme with a 980X on it.

I will much appreciate any guidance on this matter, im running windows 7 pro 64bit by the way.

Kind Regards
Tango

I can't see any reason to upgrade your ram unless you are consistently maxing out your ram and your hard disk is thrashing. Ram isn't really something where "more is better", its akin to the size of a desk you are working on. If you are working on multiple projects and have run out of desk space then sure, a larger desk will allow you to multi-task more efficiently and get more done in the same amount of time, but if you *aren't* using up all of our desk space then getting a larger desk does absolutely nothing to increase productivity.
